RN Clinical Manager
Oregon Urology Institute (OUI) and Oregon SurgiCenter (OSC) have an exciting and unique RN Clinical Manager opportunity.
The Oregon Urology Institute, a 26 provider Urology Medical Group located in Springfield, Oregon, is looking for an RN Clinical Manager for its AAAHC accredited ambulatory surgery center, Oregon SurgiCenter.
OUI and OSC is one of the largest, most advanced urological centers in the Northwest. OUI and OSC provides patients with some of the region's finest medical experts covering every major urological specialty using proven and leading-edge technologies.
The RN Clinical Manager is a hands-on position responsible for supervising and directing all nursing care, related activities of clinical areas of the SurgiCenter to include the Pre-Operative, PACU, Procedure Rooms, Sterile Processing, Intra-Operative, and Front Office areas. Includes but is not limited to responsibility for all aspects of personnel oversight, patient care, risk management, accreditation, regulatory oversight, quality assurance, materials and equipment, environmental controls, and providing assistance to physicians.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervises and directs care given to patients.
- Ensures availability of all personnel, supplies and equipment required to safely care for patients
- Ensures delivery of care according to AORN standards
- Appropriately applies policies and procedures to ensure consistent quality care is provided to patients.
- Regularly demonstrates competency in performing job tasks and operating equipment.
- Oversees the planning, direction, control, and coordination of clinical staff to ensure quality care is provided to all patients.
- Develops policies, procedures, and processes to coordinate care
- Complete annual performance evaluations for all staff
- Counsels staff as needed
- Schedules and assigns staff to increase efficiency of the clinical care
- Continually analyzes clinical services to improve the way in which services are provided
- Observes staff in daily duties and identifies areas for improvement
- Ensures regular staff participation in Quality Improvement activities
- Responsible for ensuring SurgiCenter compliance with regulatory requirements and AAAHC accreditation requirements
- Responsible for efficient operation of the SurgiCenter by:
- Finding most efficient ways to utilize staff
- Evaluates processes to insure efficiency
- Monitoring supply, medication and equipment usage
- Ensures all equipment is working properly and maintained regularly
Supervision
Responsible for all staff to include Preoperative, Postoperative, Procedure Room, Processing, Operating Room, Reception, Patient Scheduling, Medical Records, Materials and Housekeeping staff.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school
- Maintains valid RN license in Oregon plus certification in CPR, ACLS, and PALS
- Previous supervisory experience in a clinical setting
Working Conditions (Physical):
- Requires extensive mobility, walking and standing
- Requires some pushing, pulling, and lifting of equipment and/or people
- Requires the ability to make sound, accurate decisions quickly
- Will be required to fill in for all clinical roles with the SurgiCenter as needed.
Working Conditions (Environmental)
- Works in a well-lit and ventilated area with complicated equipment, some of which is hazardous in nature
- May be exposed to people who have communicable diseases. With the utilization of proper techniques, risks are minimized.
Requirements
- Demonstrates positive attitude and exhibits a cooperative approach when dealing with patients, physicians, staff, vendors, and visitors.
This RN Clinical Manager will coordinate activities with other Oregon Urology Institute Departments, will strive for continuous improvement for patient care and ensure staff is able to provide care of the highest quality. The successful candidate will need to display a track record of management success, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to work as part of a team.
